Easy Soft Glam Makeup Routine For Busy Moms

For this makeup routine, you are going to do all the steps we talked about in the Simple Everyday Makeup For Busy Moms and tweak it just a little by adding a few more steps to jazz up the look. Don’t worry, it won’t take you long.

Let’s get into it!

Step 1- Eye shadow. Adding color to your eyelids will make your eyes stand out. It will also give you a more polished finished look. Keep in mind that you can use as many shades as you want. However, I suggest picking 1 to 3 shades to create your look. A lighter shade for the lid, a darker shade for the crease, and a shimmering shade for the inner corner of your eyes to make them pop.

I also recommend using a neutral eyeshadow palette. You’ll find it much easier to blend the shades. And should you mess up, it won’t be too obvious. Don’t let that keep you from playing with colors though.

Not sure what palettes to use? Try Mac Connect In Colour Eye Shadow Palette Unfiltered Nudes or Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette, or Urban Decay Naked Metal Mania Metallic Eyeshadow Palette (I love this one because it’s a combination of neutral shades and colors).

Step 2- Add eyeliner. An eyeliner will give you a more defined look. You can add some to your upper and lower lashes and your water line. It will help define your eyes and make them stand out. Remember your eyes are usually the first thing that people notice when they first see you. It’s always a good idea to make them stand out.

There are different eyeliners to choose from. I love using a nude shade of eyeliner on my water line during the day. In the evening I tend to turn to a darker shade for both the water line and the lash lines.

Pro Tip: A waterproof eyeliner is always a good idea as well.

Here are some eyeliner options: Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil or Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil.

Step 3- Adding depth to your face. I’m talking about contour. Contouring is so much fun and makes a world of difference. It enhances your face’s features and brings out its shape. You can use a cream or powder contour that is 1 to 2 shades darker than your skin tone. Apply it to the hollows of your cheeks, jawline, and temples to create a subtle definition.

Not sure what contour to use? Try Fenty Beauty Match Stix Matte Contour Skinstick or LYS No Limits Cream Bronzer and Contour Stick.

Step 4- Highlight. Highlighting will add a nice touch to this soft glam look. It will enhance your features and add a subtle glow to your face. You can use either a cream or powder highlighter on the high points of your face such as your cheekbones, brow bones, and the tip of your nose for an added glow.

Not sure what highlighter to use? Try Dior BACKSTAGE Glow Face Palette (I love it because it has 4 different shades of highlight!) or Rare Beauty Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter.

Step 5- Don’t forget the blush. I love a good blush! Just a quick touch of a peachy or rosy shade will add a healthy flush to your cheeks and tie your whole look together. It also adds dimension to help bring out your features. Blush will make you look more radiant overall.

Not sure what blush to use? Try Urban Decay Hydromaniac Dewy Liquid Blush Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, or Mac Cosmetics Extra Dimension Hybrid Cream Powder Blush.

Let’s Finish It off

Step 6- Bring it all together. When it’s all said and done, don’t forget to set your face with your setting powder and setting spray. More on that step here.

Not sure what setting powder to use? Try Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder and/or NYX Mineral Matte Loose Finishing Powder.

Here are some setting spray options. Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Makeup Setting Spray or Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray.

And that’s it! All The Steps for an Easy Soft Glam Makeup for Busy Moms.

You can do this soft glam makeup routine for a night out on the town with the moms, or date night with hubby. Truthfully, you can use it whenever you want to.
