I’ve been a proud natural for a minute now. And pretty early in my natural hair journey, I discovered that I had low porosity hair. With that discovery came the challenge of finding the right products to use on my hair.
Finding low porosity hair products can be a bit tricky.
When it comes to shopping for low porosity hair, there are a few things to keep in mind. We are going to go over that shortly.
But first, I assume you’re here most likely because you figured out that your hair is low in porosity. You want to make sure you give it the best care possible. Give yourself a round of applause for that!

What to know about low porosity hair.
When it comes to low porosity hair, because the cuticle layers of the hair are closed, it can only digest a certain amount of protein. So if your hair is low in porosity, you want to use products that contain very little to no protein.
You also want to stay away from products that can weigh your hair down.
Most of the products mentioned will be protein-free.
