Chocolate Kinks & Kurls recently released the “Maqui Berry Custard” alongside the Terra Black Clay & Maqui Berry Clay Wash. Both products are a limited edition launch where part of the proceeds is said to support other women black-owned businesses. I got the chance to try both products, and I’m here to tell you all about my experience.

The Maqui Berry Custard is said to be the perfect solution for all your hairstyles needs.

You can use it for wash and gos, twistouts, braidouts, coils. It doesn’t mention anything about rod sets or bantu knots, but I’m sure it’d work great for those hairstyles as well. Personally, I decided to use the Maqui Berry Custard for a wash and go as this has been my go-to hairstyle. Call me “Queen of 4C wash and gos”.

The custard is said to deliver enhanced definition, add shine and minimize frizz. That’s a lot of claims, I know. So of course I had to see for myself how accurate these were.

Overall, I can say it was a great experience using this custard to style my hair. I had a few worries here and there as I went through the process. But when it was all said and done, I was pretty happy with the results. See for yourself below.
